This site uses PostHog to measure visits and homepage template performance and Cloudflare Flagship to assign templates. A first-party cookie keeps an anonymous browser identifier and template assignment for up to 30 days.

What is measured

PostHog receives public-page views, template exposures, link-click events, scroll depth, and approximate active reading time. Opening-animation time is measured separately. Session replays capture page layout, scrolling, pointer movement, and a low-frame-rate view of the public animation. Form inputs, the editable introduction, and generated text are masked; model controls are excluded. Canvas recording stops while custom context or generated output is present. Console logs, network headers and bodies, automatic click capture, and person profiles are disabled. URL query strings and full referrers are removed from analytics events; only an external referring domain is kept. Replay retention is 30 days.

PostHog and Cloudflare process network requests to provide these services. PostHog event retention follows the project settings. Cloudflare stores aggregate allocation history; the previous experiment database removes its old page records after 90 days.

The footer shows an hourly aggregate of unique measured homepage visitors for the current UTC day. It also shows the average and spread of active reading time from recent homepage visits. Only aggregates and update time are published; visitor identifiers are not exposed. The local timer also works with analytics disabled and is not separately uploaded.

Network and visit context

Cloudflare supplies approximate country and region, network number (ASN) and provider, and verified-bot information when available. These are attached to anonymous PostHog events along with a random request identifier also written to Cloudflare logs, so page visits and server requests can be correlated. Network data can reflect a VPN or shared connection and does not identify a person or employer. We do not add raw IP addresses, precise location, or device fingerprints to these records.

Browser session storage keeps visits connected across reloads and pages in the same tab, with a 30-minute inactivity timeout. It clears when the tab closes. The anonymous visitor cookie lasts up to 30 days. Dev, beta, and production keep separate storage. Device/browser information and an engagement event (10 seconds of active reading or a link click) help summarize anonymous browsing behavior. These are not named-person profiles.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track exclude your visits from experiment collection. You can also block or clear site cookies. The website remains available.
